Unity - So the World Would Know

Jesus prayed for His disciples then prayed for those who would believe their message. The prayer for those who would become believers of Christ was a prayer of unity. Much has been preached about unity in the church. Why did Jesus pray for unity among believers? He prayed for unity among believers “so the world would know that the Father had sent Him.” The unity of the believers would be a testimony to the world of who Jesus was and who the Father was. The unity of the church would be a revelation of a king and a kingdom not divided by the things that divide the world. The unity of the church is a display of a kingdom not of this world and a king not of this world.
